The empty case for Canada’s 5% defence pledge

1. Look, I’ll be brutally honest here as an American.  There is exactly one justifyable reason for NATO to increase spending up to 5% GDP as an emergency measure: the countries in NATO being thoroughly convinced war with the United States is imminent and likely unavoidable.

   That is it.  

2. This is an opinion not objective journalism as it’s supposed to be.

   This article is not based on facts. It says Canada is doing the wrong thing but doesn’t have any evidence that it is going to harm Canada. This was written with very low standards
