US, Israel move to block UN effort to shut down Gaza Humanitarian Foundation

1. The US and Israel are trying to hold off significant pressure from Hamas and it’s allies such as Russia and UNRWA to block the GHF efforts of feeding Gazans.

   Some thoughts:

   * The GHF is one of the most serious efforts to actually eradicate Hamas since the war started. The idea is that Hamas has been stealing a large percent of incoming aid to Gaza, stockpiling as much as they need in their tunnels, while selling the left overs of the free aid to civilians. Then using that money to keep paying it’s members and recruit new desperate ones. [[Example](https://www.ynetnews.com/article/bydb7zgit), another one [directly from Gazans](https://youtu.be/NBjvYkNzuAA?si=QRwOH5Rhd0Y2HGuB), and even the UN accidently admitted that at the start [before cowardly deleting the truth](https://www.timesofisrael.com/un-refugee-agency-says-hamas-stole-fuel-and-medications-from-its-gaza-premises/)]

   * Because of that, Gazans getting aid is a **major** blow to Hamas. One that has a chance of gradually breaking their hold over the population. And as such, even before the plan even started, there was already huge pressure from Hamas, Qatar, the UN and more Hamas allies to stop it in it’s tracks. Showing feeding Gazans was never a goal of any of these actors.

   * The pressure on the GHF to stop operating has been extreme. [Lies have been regularly spread](https://youtu.be/p-zfQBfpqlw?si=KMBnH4kEtChImTRK) about massacres, some of them are [confirmed to have been lies](https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-856186), some of them were confirmed to be [caused by Hamas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnJK0j6beao). Hamas has also been openly [threatening](https://www.timesofisrael.com/gaza-aid-group-says-hamas-threats-to-staff-kept-distribution-hubs-closed-on-saturday/) GHF members and already [attacked](https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/artc-ghf-says-hamas-brutally-attacked-aid-workers-at-least-5-massacred) some Palestinians affiliated with the plan.

   * Despite this, the plan has been very successful. With [over 50 million meals](https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/defense-news/article-859299) already delivered. Directly to civilians and for free. Which as you expect means Hamas is getting even more desperate. And as we see here their allies continue to put up new pressure, trying to stop it.

   To sum it up, Israel and the US feeding Gazans directly, bypassing Hamas’s ability to steal the aid for themselves, might be a death blow to the terror organization. Hamas is doing whatever it can, including both violent means and working through allies to try and dismantle the program. For the sake of all involved on all sides, I hope they continue to fail and the plan will expand significantly.
