This was a conservative plot long before Trump was in the mix. Packing the court was Mitch McConnells work over the past 50 years and he was unfortunately good at it. It will take at least a full lifetime to undo the damage conservatives have done to this country, if it can be fixed. It was fortuitous that a nihilistic narcists would take power just as the conservative majority was locked into place allowing them to finally reach their goal of lowering taxes for billionaires and forcing anti-abortion pro-gun capitalist Jesus think on an entire nation.
All this because rbg didn’t want to retire
Will the Nuremberg trials include the judges that went against the constitution?
Unless the Democrats get sweeping victories over the next few cycles, and sprout the legislative brains to legislate away these ridiculous decisions (Shelby County [no need for VRA pre-clearance in this post-racial era], CitizensUnited [money is speech and corporations are people my friend], the absurd and unnecessary Trump is Untouchable case) we can definitely kiss it good bye.
And the legislative balls to ram a court-packing through.
In short, we’re fucked.
If the Supreme Court is going to be politicised then the judges should have 8 year term limits.
