  1. Yes but to the enthralled “so long as the right people get hurt the sacrifice will be worth it; for how dare those we could once confidently consider inferior due to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and ability wound us so by having the audacity to exist outside what we name and expect them to be. ”

    Parasitic sophists.

  2. Imagine working for the government and knowing that the people you represent hate what you’re doing, but you keep doing it anyway. You’d either have to accept you’re a shitty person or keep trying to justify it to yourself somehow.

  3. Republicans ramming through massively unpopular legislation is just normal

  4. Every Republican in a safe seat: “And this affects my vote *how*?”

  5. They don’t care.

What’s public outcry going to do? Not elect him for a 3rd term?
They’ve budgeted $168 BILLION dollars for ICE. What do you think Trump’s brown shirts are going to do with the wealth of Germany funding them.

  6. Okay now do a poll of their donors and millionaires.

    Trump is for they/them.

  7. It’d be cool if this killed the Republican Nazi Party, but since they’ve already seized absolute dictatorial power, it won’t.

  8. Imagine pitching something as your “Big Beautiful Bill” and the entire country responds with:

    “God no.”

This isn’t just bad policy — it’s universally hated. Even people who like Trump are side-eyeing this one. You really have to work hard to fumble that hard in an election year.

  9. Then if it passes, that hatred should show up in the mid-terms and sweep a large pack of Republicans into forced retirement

  10. Serious question: Even if everyone hates it, and all the politicians know everyone hates it, is there anything actually stopping them from still passing it? Republicans control the house and senate, so do they even care about public opinion at this point?

  11. People won’t see ramifications of this bill till 2026 after the midterms. So that means normal run of the mill people won’t think the bill was that bad as status quo will remain the same, not knowing the reckoning the coming down the line. This will either give the GOP the ability to keep the House or have a Dem Congress get the blame and forced to do the cleanup.

  12. They. Don’t. Care. Public opinion does not influence policy at all. As George Carlin said “We have owners, they own us.” I just don’t know how these people could fucking sleep at night. They’re going to kick 11.7 million people off of Medicaid and decimate every social program in their wake all so the richest .1% of the population can get more money in tax breaks. It’s pure evil. These are sick sick people. The cancer cells in our collective society.

  13. MAGA Fake Christians will love, 500-700 State Hospitals closing, 4000 Nursing, homes closing, 500,000, medical job losses, no access to, doctors or, OBGYNs. Every Rural hospital bankrupted, the midwest will be lucky to have non-surgical urgency care or any large hospital. Cuts, pay cuts, support staff cuts, and traveling hundreds of miles or out of state for Maternal care, IVF or birth control.
Radical commie fake Christians did this. Why? Is Morallity dead, is Jesus dead? Or is it only a sick MAGA Jesus reborn?

  14. I am 30 years old. I cannot list for you anything that Republicans have tried policy-wise IN MY LIFETIME to make my life better.

  15. Does the hate matter?

The plebs will gladly suck it up, even if it kills them (like wearing masks during covid cause freedom or some shit like that), if it means hurting minorities and disenfranchised groups.

Bob in Alabama will gladly lose his entitlements if it means it hurts a trans kid. Or a black or Hispanic person.

  16. Republicans do it with impunity, knowing their base will forget and re-elect them every cycle. Want an example? In 2017, after Trump first took office and the GOP gained control of the House and Senate, one of the first bills passed (spearheaded by then House Telecom Chair Marsha Blackburn) gave ISPs the right to [sell your browser history](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/03/for-sale-your-private-browsing-history/). Did such a massively unpopular law hurt the GOP? lol. Marsha Blackburn got elected to the Senate plus we’ve got Trump and the GOP back in charge again. The GOP base has the memory of a goldfish and consistently votes against their self interest. So, sure, the BBB will f*ck Trump’s base but the GOP will not pay a tangible price.

  17. CNN has broken down a slew of new polls on how the American people view President Donald Trump’s federal spending proposals and it’s not looking good for the White House.

“If we’re talking about adjectives, how about they think it’s ‘awful’, ‘horrible’ and, to quote our colleague Charles Barkley, ‘terrible, terrible, terrible’,” network data guru Harry Enten said Monday.

He then pulled up a screen showing the results of surveys on Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ from the Washington Post, Pew Research Centre, Fox News, Quinnipiac University and the Kaiser Family Foundation, showing disastrous net approval ratings of -19, -20, -21, -26, and -29 percent respectively.

“You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know that when the net favourable rating of your bill is somewhere between -19 and -29 points, that is not a positive bill as viewed by the American public,” Enten said.

Putting a finer point on it, the numbers wizard added: “The American public, at this particular point, hates, hates, HATES the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’.”

  18. GOP policies are unpopular and have been for a very long time. That’s why they don’t actually run on anything substantiative, it’s all just based on hating certain groups. They have no idea how to actually improve anything.

  19. Trump is making all the republicans drink some to prove their loyalty to him. It’s a huge FU to their constituents.

  20. Voter: I hate everything GOP does.

*Same* voter: I will vote for them every time, at every level of government, even give them control of all 3 branches.

  21. Please please remember – this isn’t just Trump. Conservatives have wanted this for decades, this is their end goal. And after Trump is gone, they’re going to try to pin it all on him. There will be people calling themselves New Republicans and Old School Republicans and Not Orange Republicans saying that they weren’t part of this, this wasn’t real conservatism, they didn’t want this. Don’t go along with it. This was written and 100% enabled by conservatives. Don’t let them forget and get away with it after the damage is done.

  22. Republicans will ram it down our throats and when it starts to harm their voters they’ll blame the Democrats. And the Republican will eat it up like they always do, because Fox News said it!

    Edit: spelling

  23. Things Republicans do are wildly unpopular yet the population still votes for them. I just can’t understand how voters cannot break the cycle an stop voting for Republicans when all they do is fuck us over. We have the brains of a goldfish and sports team mentality programed by Fox News that we must vote R because R good and D bad.

  24. Yet somehow Republicans in the House and Senate are going to play act at debating it and then rubber stamp it because to them “we all die” and “they will get over it.”

It’s become very clear from the way the GOP is acting that they do not expect to ever have to face electoral consequences for anything they’re doing. They have gone all in on their deepest darkest desires and aren’t holding back or even hiding it very much.

They don’t seem to be worried about getting voted out, which in the past would at least moderate them from going too far too fast and make a few Republicans grow a spine and say no to some of the worst ideas.

So then, do they expect not to have any future elections or do they expect that they have contingencies in place to ensure that the outcome of any future elections will invariable be in their favor anyways so they can do what they want now?

  25. Trump supporters: “Fake news, I don’t hate it, I love it”

Rational people: “What’s in the bill that you love?”

    Trump supporters: “…”
