Tamas Matura explores how China and Russia have employed similar tactics in media weaponization to sow global distrust in Western democracies. By aligning their narratives, leveraging state-controlled media, and deploying sophisticated cyber strategies, Moscow and Beijing present a formidable challenge to democratic information ecosystems. While their individual strategies and priorities may differ, their shared goal of undermining Western influence ensures continued collaboration in this domain. This has been obvious to anyone paying attention, at least some European countries have begun to take steps to counteract these campaigns. Sadly the same cannot be said for the US.
