To make a long story short: at the beginning of March, I was let go from my full time job. Of course the market is terrible right now and I haven't had much luck finding work. It seems as though I might be getting a part-time contract, but I'm not totally sure that my Blue Card will allow that, since it is not likely to meet the salary requirements. That's what I could gather from reading this, anyway.
Is it possible that I could take this job and just apply for a skilled worker visa instead? I'm not really sure what my pathway is at this point, since I was told that I have only 6 months (and now two) to find a new job without invalidating my visa.
For added context: I'm an American in Berlin and have had my Blue Card for 3.5 years. When it was renewed after three years, the words "Erwerbstätigkeit erlaubt" were added to it.
