Prince William makes statement about ‘family breakdown’ amid Harry rift

Prince William seemingly made a reference to a personal struggle while highlighting some important causes that he has been advocating for.

During his recent chat, a subtle reference to an issue pointed to how his strained ties with Prince Harry has affected the family.

Kensington Palace on Tuesday shared important highlights from the discussion held in Sheffield to mark the second year of his five-year initiative, Homewards.

“Immensely proud to mark two years of Homewards,” the message read alongside the video. “Real progress is being made by local partnerships. From innovative housing projects now welcoming residents, to schools delivering frontline prevention.”

It continued, “Momentum is building and solutions are taking root. Demonstrating that it is possible to end homelessness, making it rare, brief and unrepeated.”

In the footage, the future king pointed out that while homelessness is about housing, it is not just limited to housing.

“We have to ask people their problems, find out what has brought them to such a situation,” he explained, adding that they can get to people earlier, there is a lot more that they can do to help them.

The Prince of Wales also noted some of the key problems that could lead to such an ordeal such as poor mental health. Another reason, which may have hit William more personally, was “complete family breakdowns” as it could lead a massive impact on a person’s life.

William has been in ongoing feud with his brother, Prince Harry, and he has first-hand experienced how damaging a family breakdown could be for a person. King Charles’s two sons have not been on speaking terms with one another and that has even had an impact on the charities they support.

Prince Harry, who founded the Invictus Games in 2014 for injured and sick veterans, is set to hold its 2027 iteration in Birmingham. According to reports, Harry has approved the invites for King Charles and Prince William despite their ongoing rift.

While, the King and the Prince of Wales have continued to show support for the army veterans protecting their nations and have served themselves, they may not attend the Invictus Games – a internationally recognised event – due to their grievances with Harry.
