  1. I really like that line chart and makes me upset knowing people had to die for me to fly.

  2. With added context of how many more planes are flying every year it’s an even more dramatic drop off

  4. Where are all those fearmongering people from the start of this year that said the end is near, and they said would never fly, based on all those plane crashes.

    I’m also curious why there isn’t a bigger drop during covid.

    Does 9/11 not count? Or does it only count for the people in the actual planes, maybe?

  7. I was expecting a big peak for 2001, but I guess they don’t count ground fatalities from crashes.

  8. it’s weird how stable that trend is, especially the deaths. I’m struggling to believe it. tbh.

  9. Do another chart showing these as a rate of something like “per miles flown”.
