Careful out there. Remember that so many drivers are on a hair trigger – living ostensibly normal lives but seconds away from genuinely psychotic behaviour.

  1. Yeesh. I ride that every day. Gratefully haven’t had anything similar yet. The problem is that the joint pavement / cycle path is too narrow and often muddy or covered in leaves, and pedestrians wander into the cycling area a lot. Given it’s a 20mph speed limit there shouldn’t be an issue cycling in the road.

  2. Which will get more upvotes … a car driver trying to kill a cyclist, or the daily post calling to ban all lime bikes because some of them are parked in an inconsiderate way?

  3. Unsurprisingly this post gets less traction than the daily cycle hate ones.

  4. This is why I run red lights, to get away from drivers like this.

  5. That cycle lane is a total joke. You can’t win, lambasted by pedestrians who don’t realise it’s shared and driven at by drivers who want you to use it. I guarantee the person who did this would have had a go at the cyclist for using the pavement / cycle lane if they had been a pedestrian.

  6. Some people have never gotten over the loss of the 60 MPH national speed limit down that very straight and very fast road. But in a crowded field, this driver was a Grade A arsehole.

Rubbish cycle lane down there, I personally think it’s safer to NOT have one there and have cyclists in the middle of the lane if they want.

  7. Oh hey! This happened right down the road of the psychiatric hospital I work at. Coincidentally, the agency nurse on shift about 2 weeks ago was going on about how he road raged on the way here… 🤨
