The end of bike camera reporting? Police in Wales stop taking action on cyclists’ close pass videos, claiming decision based on “national guidance” advising forces to avoid “dealing with incidents involving distances”

  1. Now Correct me if I’m wrong here as i haven’t look it up in a while – but i thought Cyclists were supposed to remain single-file and to stick to the left side of the road to allow cars and other vehicles to pass?

The only exception to this are corners? – where they can take the middle of the road and travel side by side – because no idiot in the right mind should be trying to over-take on a corner, so cyclists riding side by side at these points should have no bearing on drivers.

  2. How can they choose to ignore an infraction they have clear evidence of and which carries 3 penalty points and a fine?

  3. Is there such thing as a “class action suite” or equivalent that cycling associations could pursue against the Welsh Police for failing to do their job?

  4. “There’s too much crime, so we decided to ignore it”

  5. Perhaps that can resume it when they start acting on dash-cam footage of cyclists running red lights.
