Either he’s just completely settled into being a vessel for the Heritage Foundation while their guys spoon-feed him legislation, or his mental acuity needs to be questioned. Or both.
He is a vessel for the heritage foundation. I thought that was already pretty clear.
Sometimes Trump comes out and does his thing which probably keeps the heritage foundation on edge a bit, but for the most part, it’s Stephen Miller in charge and the other goons
Trump is on auto pilot, clueless what’s going on but on occasion he pops out wanting everyone to still think hes in charge, and for the most part he still is the “president”

Most of what Trump says is a lie. He is claiming other countries pay tariffs. He claims he is only deporting illegal criminals. He says his tax breaks are for the average American. He says alot of untrue things, over and over.
He cared about funding ICE, he got what he wanted. Im just amazed at how many people they convinced got what they wanted out of it too. We are being outplayed by a 5th grade bully

I think it would be more likely that he just didn’t care, or maybe people didn’t tell him everything that was in it.
For a group that likes “big, strong men”, they really seem to be oddly fine with their Biggest Strongest Guy not knowing everything happening around him. For argument’s sake, let’s say he truly didn’t know about it… How are you supposed to explain that away when this is like the 5th time since his re-election that this has happened? At some point you need to see that either someone else is trying to fuck over your guy, or he’s not capable like you want to believe. Either way, you should be kicking and screaming and trying to get some answers.
But I also understand that this is a thought path that includes logic, which is something the republicans seem to struggle with.
He didn’t care what was in it, he just wanted to have his signing photo-op today.
That was never an issue. It was HIS bill. He wanted to inflict pain on “the radical left”.
He knew. He probably dictated the broad strokes. And all the republicans knew what they were voting for. Their donors over their constituents. They’re banking on positions for life based on loyalty to Dear Leader and are no longer worried about being voted out.
I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure they lose that bet and that we have legitimate elections, even in this anti-Democracy MAGAmerica environment.
When MAGA wakes up to the fact that incontinent dementia ridden grandma is being thrown out of her nursing home and coming to live with them, the blowback is likely to be huge. The Medicaid cuts will start to kick in in 2027 while Trump is still in office (if he lives that long.) He’ll try to blame the Democrats and the lowest IQ MAGAites will believe him, but that still leaves a shit ton of people who’ll be pissed off. It’s up to every Democrat in Congress to shout from the rooftops the truth of who did this to them.
Because Project 2025 wrote it for him.

If we keep foregrounding this, he may be bullied into NOT signing it. Dem leadership needs to push this angle hard and fast.

* Republican president claims not to have known what’s in it.
* Democrats read the whole thing page by page in Congress out loud as a proper filibuster and voted against it.
* And now it’s all law.

Trump doesnt know the content of any of the bills. There are MULTIPLE videos where he is presented bills and he audibly says “whats this one about?” and then signs it. Hes a rubber stamp for the billionaires, tech oligarchs and evangelicals.
Of course he didn’t know. He doesn’t know jack shit. He’s the dumbest fucking president in the history of the country by miles and miles. He just signs off on whatever his fascist donors tell him to. He hasn’t read a paragraph of legislation the entire time he’s been in public office.
The bill is a thousand pages long. He has no fucking idea what’s in it.
He’s just trying to shift blame or something. He doesn’t know much, but he knows he wants to wreck this country and he knows this bill will do it
The cruelty is the point. When you already have everything, the only thing that can make you feel like you have more is when everyone else has even less.
If Trump is telling the truth, which most people know for a fact that he isn’t, a simple remedy would be to send the budget back to Congress for another revamp to remove the abjectly cruel portions of the bill.

Trump is not in charge. His only real power is playing a figurehead designed to appeal to the bigots and idiots, while foreign governments, corrupt billionaires, and religious extremists buy and sell the country for parts.
