Does anyone know what these vehicles are is this house in North London? I see it everyday on my commute and it looks 1950s America military trucks. But what’s that doing in a semi in North London?

  1. i see similar on a house on the A41. I always wondered too.

  2. Interesting place. Those old Land Rovers are rare now. The other is US, don’t know the model. Somebody will know on here I’m sure.

  3. Historical restorations.

It’s generally a hobby but enthusiasts can also earn serious coin hiring out their authentic vehicles to Tokkers or movie studios.

  4. The one with the soft top by the front door is a Series Land Rover, probably a Series 1. To the right of that is, I think, a WW2 era Dodge truck. Nearer the camera under the tarp is probably a Willys Jeep.

On the drive is a Sankey trailer.

And to the left of that is a Ford Fiesta but you probably knew that.

  5. I can just imagine being this chap (or chapette’s) neighbour. What a fucking nightmare.

  6. Back left is probably Landrover MK2 from the 60s.

Back right could be a Dodge WC of some sort from the 40s.

  7. I guess the owner wanted to collect military vehicles at one point? I had a neighbour growing up who had a few ex-military jeeps. He took great care of them though: not the case here with all the stuff piled in and around them. Clearly a hoarder situation, you can tell the house is as packed as the yard.

  8. The truck on the right looks like a Chevrolet G506 from WW2. Probably a WW2 era Jeep under the tarp, with the back of it taken off and sitting on the left. And an old Land Rover at the back.

  9. I believe the rear right is a Dodge, the rear left is definitely a Land Rover, probably a MK1. The front is most likely a Willys MB from the outline

  10. Top left is a series 1 Land Rover. Top Right looks like a Dodge Power Wagon.

  11. * Back Right looks like a WW2 Dodge WC series not sure the exact one
    * Back Left is a Land Rover Series II
    * Front is a Willies Jeep

  12. Military history re-enactors. Some even have actual tanks, but mostly it’s limited to uniforms, supplies and portable armaments – whatever the missus will tolerate, I guess.

  13. Dunno but that house is an absolute mess. I’m a human get me out of here!

  14. I walk by this house on my way to the gym. Can often see an older gentleman tinkering with them and getting them roadworthy (?).
I quite like the old signs next to them too.
    (Kil kee being one)

  15. He repairs old army vehicles. I go past it a few times a day (bus driver) and spoke to him about it once. They look more old Rhodesian than British though. I could be wrong.

  16. This the guy on Watford way? He’s a collector/enthusiast. Been doing it for years. I used to live few doors up from there

  17. Blocking the pavement? For shame. Cue tutting and head shaking. Clearly an American.

  18. What are they doing there? There’s these things called car enthusiasts, we live among you but our hobbies don’t fit in the house so you see them on the drive

  19. Someone asks a question and the amount of judgmental people come out the woodwork is insane. You all belong in keeping up appearances.

  20. You should ask your local council or a bylaw enforcer the second of your two questions.

  21. Hey that “semi” probs costs a £1,000,000+ have some respect

  22. I don’t know but, I bet it stinks in that house.

  23. Can’t see the steering wheel through the tarp but Dodge truck likely to be British army surplus – 180,000 were built in Canada for British and Commonwealth forces.

  24. Reflection in the right-hand upstairs window looks like a fat naked person.

  25. Of all the streets in all of London you pick one where I know exactly where it was taken 🙂 the collection has been there for years and I have never paid it much attention

  26. I used to live very close by. Watford way. Cats have been there since at least 2005. They used to be in better condition, because the owner used to drive them very occasionally (pre 2015)
