1. Only people with rich parents can now go to medical school. But with the Medicaid cuts, no one would pay money to send their child down such a dead-end profession anymore.

I dont even get how pharma is even Ok with this considering people will most likely choose death over debt, its already been done with people waiting and taking ubers in medical crisis over an ambulance bill. Surely they see the end goal is a complete collapse of healthcare in this country which at that point means no money for them?? 9. This is going to hit students in veterinary schools too and we have an extreme shortage of vets in this country.

11. At this point, everything is so broken that Democrats will have to pass universal healthcare, free college, cut spending on military, tax the rich, invest in manufacturing, pass strong constitutional amendments that protect civil rights, and make political bribery illegal.

14. Probably not just doctors, though that shortage is going to hit the hardest. This is going to affect a lot of fields from pharmacy to veterinary to law, dental, and more.

15. Here is the neat part. They timed it so that the bad outcomes would happen after the upcoming elections. They know the population will hate this, but also will want to elect in democrats next cycle. And who will be there to blame for the awful bill when it hits home?

16. One of my kids’ friends has been applying to medical schools this summer. Last I heard, she’s decided to move on because this bill means there’s no way for her to make it work financially.

27. My husband is about to finish fellowship and is 550k in debt. That was a private med school, the only one he got into. This bill is going to devastate the medical field.

28. I dont even understand the logic behind putting a cap on student loans. Why? Whats the argument for this?

29. How will all the poor people die if there are trained medical professionals? Remember their plan. It’s not the highest wellbeing for the most amount of people, it’s life is only for those who deserve it.

33. We already have a doctor shortage. New patient wait lists for primary care doctors are >12 months in my hometown.

34. Here’s the biggest bullshit factor: These people CANNOT bankrupt on their student debt.
    Period.

    Because the government says no. But the government just let them take out hundreds of thousands of dollars just to cut them short right before they got the profession that could pay for their debt.

37. It seems other countries want our disenfranchised students, Canada has offers out to our doctors & nurses, Europe recruiting scientists. After WW2, we brought over scientists & it did wonders for America. Now the draining away of talent will push us much lower.

38. People who passed this are going to be dead long before the predicted doctor shortage. Doesn’t affect them any, so why should they care, right?

39. Why would we put caps on the most useful vocations? Doesn’t this impact lawyers and engineers just as much?

44. This is the whole point. Brain drain America and make them dumb so they’ll vote republican.  Clear as day.

45. There’s already a doctor shortage. Seeing a specialist for almost anything in my area is a 4-6 month wait… and I live in a large-ish city where Medical Research is the #1 industry.

    Luckily, there will be far fewer patients by 2037 since millions of people are going to die from the medicaid cuts. Silver linings!

46. The scale of this administration’s mess is hard to grasp.

    I believe this government plans on some militarized centralism. Education cut. Healthcare cut. It already had many problems with vulture capitalism, now its broken as we know it.

    Want education? Military. Health care? Military. Stable Financials? No promises but you have a shot at it in the military.
    And probably will be mandatory 2-3 years for all. Like in Israel.
