  1. That’s just people not respecting the zebra crossing. Start fining them and that problem diminishes. Unfortunately that would mean diverting police from other duties.

  2. I don’t drive, I cycle a lot and think there should be more cycle lanes. I also think too many people are absolutely selfish morons and I’m just as sick of these bad cyclists as I am bad drivers. I’m sick of seeing them go through red lights, not wear helmets and all sorts of crap.

  3. Bikers just don’t give a single fuck do they.

  4. In chiswick high street the bump is much more severe which i think helps in encouraging cyclists to stop.

Seems to work to some extent

  5. Hang-on, what…. ‘floating bus stop’ ….. what ?
… am I missing something here… zebra crossing?
    🤔

  6. If they can’t drive a car but can balance on a bike, they’ll have never read a copy of the Highway code….LOL . Why would they. They don’t have to pay for lessons, pay for their tests, pay for their insurance, tax, MOT etc etc… why would they go and buy or borrow a Highway code book…. clueless to anybodies safety, even their own; and as for consideration – forget it.
    😅

  7. I thought Londoners carried umberellas to act as an emergency break for hostile cyclists?

  8. It blows my mind how little courtesy Londoners have. No way so many people would have not stopped to let that man cross in other parts of the UK.

  9. Looks like a nice spot to walk across carrying a riot shield.

  10. Curious why they don’t have the lollipop post at the side of the road?

  11. It will take someone getting killed before this stops – it’s insane in London

  12. Cycling Mikey needs to hire an intern and place them here

  13. That silly cunt at the end moaning to the guy who actually stopped.

  14. Better solution is to start looking at licensing cyclists, especially the ones that do it for a job. Everyone else using the roads have to have a license, cyclists are the worst of the lot so why do they not need one? Most of them don’t even know what the traffic light signals mean.

  15. Literally last week a biker told me to fuck off on a red light. As if that doesn’t apply to them lol

  16. The concept of zebra crossings were from a kinder more courteous age when Britain truly was great

  17. As a cyclist and driver, I’m disgusted by these cyclists not stopping for these pedestrians. Police should up their presence on such places and give £150 fines for anyone who doesn’t stop. Take their details and put them on a database, next offence £1k fine and banned from cycling for a year. If ban contravened, 10k fine and 90 days’ community service. Resets after 10 years.

  18. Suitcase. This is crying out for a nice, full of lead, suitcase. Shoved out in front of the pedestrian as they go to use the crossing….. take that psycho-cyclist.

  19. When I see cyclists talking about how terrible motorists are…I think of the times I’ve had cyclists behave like this.

  20. I’m an avid cyclist so I’m absolutely aware this is a major problem. I’ve been thinking they should add barrier arms like at a train crossing.

  21. Spain has this right. If your standing at that crossing you have the right of way if your foot is on that crossing then he drives over your toes get shot. Like am no stranger to watching someone outa turn receiving a broadside. But where I was a stranger was the civil garda giving someone who went over a zebra crossing while some had their toe on the road 3 lanes away. Like he got dragged out his Opel and what a hiding I was like take it this is drugs or gang shit and folk in the pub were like nah that’s what happens here if you fuck with the zebra crossing. And fair enough it’s a very simple rule. But aye I’d take my polis over theirs the way they handed out that hiding.

  22. They should use physical barriers with a warning light. Doesn’t even need to be a high barrier.

  23. These things need traffic lights and AI Cameras. Run a red and you get fined

  24. Can you get one of those retractable stingers off Amazon?

  25. I’m a biker and road rules don’t apply to me, apparently

  26. Don’t you know that the rules of the road don’t apply to cyclists!

  27. Traffic rules are for cars and lorries, there are no rules for cyclists, every cyclist knows this truth, sadly many pedestrians and car drivers do not. /s

  28. A sturdy wheelie case pushed out in front of you does the trick.

  29. Cyclists don’t need to read the highway code or do any sort of test to use a road. So why on Earth would they stop at a zebra crossing?

  30. Somebody should start videoing themselves transporting long metal poles across these crossings. It would get so many views.

  31. Anyone know where this is? It looks like a terrible design

  32. Since when are zebra crossings just paint on the road and no pole with a flashing yellow light? I know people love to hate on cyclists but if that many people are cycling through they’re probably not even registering there is a crossing there until they’re right on top of it.

  33. I’m absolutely shocked to see cyclists not following the rules of the road. They’re usually so outspoken about people that don’t, or is that just when it’s the rules they want enforcing?

  34. All those engineers and doctors were importing

  35. This just blew my mind:

    > Drivers should stop at the broken ‘give way’ line (about 1 metre before the crossing) when pedestrians are using the crossing. You should give way to pedestrians waiting to cross and must give way when a pedestrian has moved onto a crossing.

    [source](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/know-your-traffic-signs/pedestrian-cycle-and-equestrian-crossings#:~:text=Zebra%20crossings,-Pedestrians%20should%20never&text=Drivers%20should%20stop%20at%20the,has%20moved%20onto%20a%20crossing.)

So you don’t actually have to stop until the pedestrian is on the crossing, it’s only a “should” to stop while they are waiting, not a “must”. It’s only a legal requirement if it’s a must, so in the strictest sense of the law it’s fine to not stop like these cyclists are doing in the video.

I think it would be better (and how I drive) if we make it a “must” – or at least people should just do it anyway.

The floating bus stop seems beside the point to me.

  36. Its almost like drivers have to pass a test and show they understand the road and are in control of a vehicle but we let any random moron ride a bike.

  37. Cycling proficiency should be mandatory certificate to cycle or proof that you have £100000 insurance. Did mine at school in 1980 I came 3rd in the slow cycling race.
