  1. If only we had a national service that helped warn us about the weather….what would we even call such a thing????

  2. Not really a claim, it takes two seconds to find out who voted to defund the weather peoples.

  3. A better system would require Ted Cruz not being a part of it

  4. I haven’t forgotten how Ted Cruz callously voted against aid for New York when Superstorm Sandy hit. He should be reminded every time he’s asked anything by the media.

  5. While counties in Texas had been warned about needing more sensors and better automated warning systems (not just phone messages from the NWS), but ignored it because of money you had Ted Cruz decide the best way to get taxpayer money to Texas wasn’t to address these issues.

It was to take $85 million of US taxpayer money in the current budge reconciliation so the fucking space shuttle Discovery could move from DC to Houston. That’s where his priorities were and always have been.

Energy grid, school shootings, flooding, whatever. All problems ignored.

  6. He’s also vacationing in Europe. Always out of office when he’s needed

  7. And he’s vacationing in Europe instead of being present in his home state in the midst of a deadly crisis.

  8. What’s he going to do? Throw a fat contract at some rich bastard so they can make a subscription service?

  9. Texans must love the guy, he keeps getting elected.

  10. Wow it really is as bad as people say. I mean, I already knew, but wow it’s surreal to watch in realtime time and time again.

Will Texans vote to keep these same ghouls in power and continue getting slammed by storms again and again? Yes, yes they will.

  11. They “want a better system” until they see how much that system costs. Then theyll slowly go silent on the issue until people forget. And of course theyll never get it, because your gop/libertarian government only wants to spend money on the military police now.

  12. News say he is vacationing in Europe. Fled Cruz at it again.

  13. Now they are going to try to privatize the service and charge 10x more for a service that doesn’t work as well as what we used to have.

  14. And they’ll still vote for him in the next election

  15. I sent a warning email to his office for this exact problem months ago. I received a response that he disagrees with my assessment and that’s what makes this country great.

  16. Vote him in again texas. He clearly has your best interest at heart.

  17. Yup he did. He did defund those program that would have helped. And Texas will re-elect him next time he is up.

  18. If Democrats ran Texas, these people would likely be alive.

  19. Guys, he’s talking about privatization.

    We had a thing.

    Republicans broke the thing.

Republicans point at the thing they broke and say “see? Government doesn’t work!”

Republicans then say we need a “better way” which happens to put a bunch of money into the pockets of the worst people you’ve ever met in your entire life.

He doesn’t mean “better system” as in “better government.”

He means “better system” as in “no government.”

This has been the Republican MO longer than any of you have been alive.

  20. He directly lied to the public saying the cuts to NOAA, the emergency system, and staffing reductions had no impact whatsoever on this disaster, and then has the balls to say we need a better system.

Texas, get off your thoughts and prayers, and vote for someone that actually cares about your children.

  21. And next election they’ll vote him back in. Period. The end.

  22. Don’t forget he was reelected by, I believe, a landslide.
