  1. Looks like a Ringelnatter which is harmless. Let it be.

  2. It’s a grass snake (Ringelnatter), protected and harmless (unless you are a frog or a toad). There are no venomous snakes native to Germany.

  3. It’s Natrix natrix, aka grass snake, it’s non venomous, and less likely to bite unless you’re bothering it.

  4. The only snake that’s capable of really harming humans is a Kreuzotter and this isn’t one, so you can just leave each other be in peace 😀

  5. Doesn’t look like it , also leave him alone please snakes do not attack unless they feel threatened.

  6. As far as I know there are only two venomous snakes in Germany relevant to humans the Kreuzotter and the Aspisviper. Probably not a good idea to get bitten by those, but not an automatic death sentence. Despite that they are only found in south Germany and rather shy / not aggressive at all.

The snake in the picture doesn’t have any markings similar to those two though.

  7. If in doubt, look at the eyes. This one’s a little cutie pie with adorably round button pupils.

If the pupils are slits – No_touching_Arrested_Development.jpg

It’s rare in Germany to see snakes at all, btw, nevermind a venoumos one, so consider yourself very lucky.

And no snake here is dangerously venomous. As in, none would actually be able to kill you if you wouldn’t happen to be allergic.
