  1. Resigned for ‘personal reasons’.

“They wanted me to turn up to meetings and do some work…”

  2. Shock reform are performing how literally everyone except reform voters expected them too

  3. They really didn’t have a clue what they were running for did they. Shambles of a Ltd company.

  4. Good reform are falling apart they are untrustworthy and just care about themselves

  5. All the other parties need to be pointing this out daily to the wider electorate as to why Reform isn’t a serious party, whether that’s as a protest vote or one as a representative.

All their elected representatives are simply not fit for purpose and are costing tax payers thousands with their antics.

  6. I wonder how many more will suddenly have ‘personal reasons’ for quitting when they realise more and more than their pasts comments, tax returns, criminal history, affairs, friendships, work ethics etc. are under a lot more scrutiny than they once were before they tried getting on the gravy train of expenses of being elected.

  7. Expect we be hearing this a lot the next 4 years, will it have an impact on the party though.

  8. I hope Reform are keeping track of how much it costs the local councils every time one quits.

  9. Farage and his ilk are professional opposers. The grift is all in being the shouty one at the front of the stage.

The moment they actually get what they want they run a mile from actually having to deliver what they said they would.

Look at what happened after Brexit. Farage washed his hands of any responsibility so quickly that he almost took the skin off his palms.

Look at Clacton. I’m sorry to tell you this, Clacton, but you were targeted as a bunch of thick racists who would fall for the lies. Where’s he been since the election? Hint: not Clacton.

No wonder they all resign. Because they aren’t in it to deliver ANYTHING at all. They just want the money.

  10. Another waste of taxpayers money – these by-elections cost thousands.

  11. Most of these people didn’t want or expect to win. They were just names for the ballot papers.

  12. I will honestly be shocked if Reform are still around in a few years at this point.

Watching them quit and resign constantly is getting common at this point, guess they all thought they could do what Farrage does and get paid to spew bullshit whilst doing no actual work (has he turned up to his constituency yet?).

  13. That realisation that they:

    A. Have very little budgetary freedom because of statuatory obligations
    B. Councils have essentially no spare money, because they are suffocated with AHSC
    C. Councillors mostly deal with bins and local nuisances
    D. They’re not a paid role other than some basic allowances

    Reality smacks hard. Good riddance

  14. I know it’s fun to take the piss of Reform but this is most likely a paper candidate who accidentally got elected and then couldn’t work it to be a councillor. Not some nefarious ‘we can’t do what we want’ thing.

If you look at any party that has a sudden raise in council seats, there’s always a quick resignation from the one who didn’t mean to get elected.
