While living in the Uk I picked up some great words and insults, (mainly from my late wife)
So far I have explained
Gobshite
Gormless
Pratt
Muppet
Pillock
Gobshite is my favourite, there’s something wholesomely brutal about British insults
I’m gonna go watch some more blackadder remember more

It’s like an orange!
It’s not a Great Wall, it’s an Alright wall. It’s the Alright wall of China: Pilkington
What’s this bald headed fuck doing here? ‘Kin Karl.
Maybe slack jaw is the US equivalent?
Gotta ‘ave yer critics
i read that as “gobshite gormless pratt muppet pillock” was a single swear that youd explained.
Don’t forget wazzock
I am, at present, gormful.
“He thought Anne Frank was just avoiding rent. Isn’t that remarkable?”
Gotta ‘ave your critics.
He’s ‘avin a go
squirm
Dumbstruck
I define it as a visible cluelessness
*”To lack the qualities and failure to possess the characteristics of ‘gorm’.”*
Not primarily insults but Google – Dave Allen, Vagaries Of The English Language.
It’ll be one of the funniest things you’ll ever watch. Allen was a genius.
How about bellend, as in you absolute bellend.
You never see an old man ‘avin’ a Twix.
*turns out… was a monkey!*
YERRRANNIDIOT!!! PLAY A RECORD!!!
Gobsmacked is one which my Belgian friends didn’t understand, so I physically showed them and it all came together for them and their faces were priceless!
Am i in control of me brain, or is my brain in control of me?
“Scottish fella can’t read his emails.” – Kenny Loggins
God I miss Rock busters
Guy’s straight outta gorms. not one gorm does he possess
Head like a fucking orange
A look that says the lights are on but nobodies home
…he just got out the pool and burped
“The lights are on but there is no body home.”
“You’ve got a face like a smacked arse!”
These are my favourite British insults.

He’s the master of expression!
He sometimes comes out with wise words that make you sit up and listen. I like the one about Petra
All i heard when seeing that picture was. “I’m down to my last bag of monster munch” ~ Pilkington
I love that guy!
I bet he could eat a nob at night
U would say that expression is more “incredulous”. Gormless is more of a blank, lights are on but nobodys home kind of expression. Think Pvt Pyle.
If you want another word how about antwacky (Scouse got old fashioned).
I hadn’t realised ‘gormless’ was particularly British. What equivalent do you Americans use for the same expression?
I think his eyes are too focused to be gormless
Personal favourite is calling anyone ‘You absolute -insert adjective here-‘ and it being absolutely devastating no matter what word you choose
Glaikit
Numpty
Gallus
