  1. How gorgeous.

Just a heads up in case you don’t know, please don’t give them fish or fish derivatives, they can’t digest it. You can also get a dedicated hedgehog food from pet shops.

Your parents are so lucky, I’d love them in my garden.

  2. i once saw a Hedgehog and a Rat have a fight on my lawn and the Hedgehog won on points!🤪

  3. I recently found one in our garden in distress, but after a months stay at the local hedgehog hospital I got to release him back into the garden. No idea where he is now though.

  4. Quite rare being out in the daylight! We’ve got a nature camera and feed ours every night but they only start to come out after 10 normally.

  5. Have them visiting my garden quite regularly whilst they are doing their rounds. Had one a few years ago that would come up to me to get fed, after 2 years of me gaining his trust, he wouldn’t eat from my hand though. A mates dog killed him in my garden one night, I’m still not talking to that dog.

  6. Hey OP, was this taken in the evening? Just wondering because hogs are mostly nocturnal creatures with an odd exception 👍. Hogs out during the day aren’t in good health. Just a heads-up ❤️

  7. How lovely. The ‘size queen’ comment made me chuckle, though 😂

  8. You lucky bastard.

I’ve never seen a live hedgehog. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a dead one either.

  9. Fook me, he a biggun’.

We have one in our garden and that fella would eat him.

Perhaps NOT feed him as much. He seems to already have had ALL the food.

  10. Hedge hogs, why can’t they just share the hedge?

  11. Last year I received a note from our neighbourhood to warn people who use automatic lawn mowers/ trimmers.

Hedgehogs are highly susceptible to injury from the blades. Our neighbours had found injured/ maimed hedgehogs.

If nothing else, **Please** don’t leave them running from dusk onwards.

OP, it’s lovely to see we now have a mammoth hedgehog being supported in your parents garden. They look like they’re on stilts when they run.

  12. “My god what is this glorious lump of foods I found??”
