I’ve been thinking about one this a lot this week. If there are sex offenders in democratic leadership, I *want* them exposed. Since we’re not, for the most part, a cult of personality, we don’t bend our beliefs quite so easily to accommodate the crimes and skeeviness of leadership. I think that Democrats, on the whole, bent for Clinton for so long because he was actually doing some good things. That doesn’t make what he did better, but that’s kind of understandable. Trump is just destroying shit, lies to his base, and the rank and file republicans will do a 180 on rape because Trump is more important than anything else to them. It’s totally deranged.
I don’t want any politicians in power on that list, this isn’t a party thing.

Someone once tried the “What if Bill Clinton is on the list?” on me, and was shocked when I said “Then give him a trail and if he’s found guilty, lock him the fuck up.” They expect us to give our politicians a pass because that’s what they do.
Even some of my MAGA-indoctrinated folks on my socials are on the same page here. Hopefully they stay that way.

I mean… release what you have on Epstein or don’t. But *prosecute the child molesters you found out about*. That’s the part I’m taken aback by. I can understand a DOJ not wanting to just release the evidence of a criminal investigation. I cannot understand why we’re not seeing dudes in handcuffs.

Secondly, the hyper-focus on Epstein (mostly by the right, but both sides lately) disappoints me. So much harm to children is happening in mundane, non-billionaire sex island ways. By putting all of your ‘save the children’ energy into this one pervert and his friends, you’re missing all the harm to children all around you.
Most children who are sexually assaulted are not molested by billionaires. They’re molested by your neighbors, priests, and Donald Trump.

There are a handful of “blue dog”, Blue MAGA types that treat the DNC with the same cultish reverence that the DNC wishes it had.
But those people aren’t electorally relevant, clearly, since the party keeps fucking losing every time they let the Blue MAGA call the shots.
Outside of that small subset, most people within the DNC’s voter base *fucking hate the DNC* and are only voting blue because of the lesser evil, “vote blue no matter who” arrangement that the neoliberal Blue MAGA types keep forcing down our throats decade after decade after decade.
I would happily let the DNC burn if it meant *both* of the parties burn, and most Americans would agree. There is a reason politicians are hated on every side of the aisle.
