Trump ‘threatened to bomb Moscow’ – in reality, he’s afraid to hurt Putin

    But those remarks were just the latest example of Trump’s growing frustration with the Russian President — frustration that, so far, has resulted in little action.

    During a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Trump admitted he had been misled by Putin. “We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth,” he told reporters. “He’s always very nice, but it doesn’t mean anything.”

    Trump added that he was now open to a bipartisan Senate plan to sanction Russian oil exports and has [overturned a Pentagon decision](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/trumps-weapons-chaos-no-anomaly-way-madhouse-works-3796463?ico=in-line_link) to delay critical weapons deliveries to Ukraine.

    “Putin isn’t treating people like human beings — he’s killing far too many,” Trump said. “So we’re sending defensive weapons to Ukraine, and I’ve given the go-ahead.”

    But instead of taking note of Trump’s remarks, Putin unleashed hundreds of drones on Ukraine — in what Kyiv described as the largest drone attack by Russia since the start of [its invasion](https://inews.co.uk/topic/russia-ukraine-war?srsltid=AfmBOorSVN5-lFreA0V5fMLF40Pl3fHzAYCraFMxwJhu5rniCDtm2AoL&ico=in-line_link).

    The colossal aerial assault involved 728 drones and 13 missiles, eclipsing the previous record number of 539 drones, set on 4 July, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

    “This is a demonstrative attack, and it comes at a time when there have been so many attempts to achieve peace and ceasefire, but Russia rejects everything,” Ukrainian President [Volodymyr Zelensky](https://inews.co.uk/topic/volodymyr-zelensky?srsltid=AfmBOopz4qgOqt1Ij4Ogz4ruwHUy1-SVzDi4hMVw8PB60RuUYV3L7Wnm&ico=in-line_link) said on Telegram.

    “Our partners know how to apply pressure so that Russia will be forced to think about ending the war, not new strikes. Everyone who wants peace must act.”

  2. I doubt they would let him bomb Moscow in the first place, and it’s quite obvious the cold war is back and relations soured

  3. Trump has done nothing but kiss Putin’s ass. How am I supposed to believe he actually threatened Russia?

  4. He said he’d settled this war in a day, even if you accept that was hyperbole, he seems to have no clue how to solve the issue.

    He said ‘you have no cards’ to Zelenskyy. The US only has one card, escalation, and Trump has no intention of playing it. Therefore, practically speaking, the US has no cards now.

  6. Dude still got high from successfully bombed Iran, he also said he would bomb Beijing if China invades Taiwan. It’s remarkable that a guy who grew up during the Cold War now speaks nonchalantly about bombing another nuclear capable nation.

    But more importantly, by throwing threats around casually, he risks no one would take him seriously and that would lead to massive miscalculation on both sides with catastrophic consequences.
