I've seen on the RTS website that they decided to ban foreigners from entering the pool in Porrentruy, but they don't go into much details as to what happened. After reading that the nearby french pool had to close because the employees were getting aggressed too much I've gotten really curious about what happened in Porrentruy. Does someone have all the juicy details?

  1. Apparently, people felt/were getting harassed by “French youth”

  2. Sure, so essentially this is not new at all, in fact, they’ve been doing it since 2020, but it’s only been enforced twice if memory serves, once in 2020, and this time in 2025.

As you probably know, Porrentruy is located roughly 10km from the French border and is served by the N19-A16 highway, meaning it’s a really short drive from say Delle (F) to Porrentruy (CH).

At the start of the season, the pool is open to anyone. There’s security still, but they don’t ask for id as far as I know.

Sadly, young French people (men AND women) from housing projects can’t seem to be able to behave themselves. They’re loud, start fights, insult people, spit on people, steal belongings, they’re often drunk or high or a combination of both, women and kids are afraid of them. (EDIT: they crap in the water too apparently)

It’s not rare for the police to intervene multiple times a day as the security guards are limited in what they’re allowed to do.

Safety and peace come first, so at that point they ban the French altogether, and just like that the pool becomes peaceful again, and people and kids feel safe.

Why don’t they go to pools in their own country you might ask? Well, it’s because they’re already banned from them, that’s why they come to Switzerland. The fact that the pool nearby in France is closed for remodeling or something just happens to be a coincidence this specific year.

  3. “Whats going on, why do you exclude people from access who already got banned somewhere else…?”

    Yeah, guess why….

  5. Switzerland could solve this issue in an elegant way. What about France?

  6. Well the usual suspects all over again. Who could have seen this coming…

  7. Here before this topic gets locked because of « too much work for the mods/too much r*cism. »

  8. Oh look, an account with barely any activity and no karma posts a racist bait post.

  9. This is so massively overblown. Porrentruy did the right thing regarding the ressources at hand. However, it is crazy how we allowed us to descend into racist thought in the past 2-3 years. Immigration is a serious, complex problem that needs well-thought out and fair solutions that allign with our culture. The way people want the „juicy details“ and „can‘t say the truth“ is just the total dissolution of self control giving in to blind, aimless hate. Is this really who we want to be as swiss?
