Director of the Belarusian Railways Valery Verenich and Chairman of China State Railway Group Guo Zhuxue discussed topical issues of bilateral relations and co-operation on the platforms of international organisations. The parties agreed to implement joint projects, noting the high level of mutually beneficial co-operation aimed at increasing container traffic on the China-Europe-China route and export-import transportation on the China-Belarus-China route.

Valery Verenich drew attention to the fact that Belarus is not only a transit link, but also an important trade and logistics partner of China. “The friendly relations between the leaders of our countries give an additional impetus to the development of China-Belarus-China transportation,” he said.

The Director of the Belarusian Railways thanked Guo Zhuxue for developing co-operation and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the planned partnership projects.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by the parties following their talks, and the document demonstrates their desire to reach a new level of partnership, jointly build logistics for railway transportation along international transport corridors, intensify and promote practical co-operation, and dynamically develop container train services.
