Data and Code are available on my GitHub.
A series of functions was written to map year and title to franchises.

  2. Your use of overlapping color gradients is delightfully mentally disturbing, mind if I send you some power points; I could use your talent/expertise to get my manager to stop asking me to make presentations

  3. I love the idea of this visualization, but the color choices (and gradients?) make it really hard to read. In particular, MCU and Harry Potter are two of the bigger categories and they look almost identical to my old eyes.

  4. Wait, the Disney line action remakes appear in the legend but don’t have a color

  5. I think it’s a cool chat, but I disagree with the conclusion. Yes, Covid and the strike of the writers guild had a great affect, but I think streaming services are the biggest driver of people not going to the movies anymore. Covid here only acted as a catalyst. It would be interesting to see a chart of streaming service revenue next to it. Probably harder to compare, but maybe both chats can be set up by production company instead of film series.
