FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will bring high-level basketball to Cyprus as well, with Greece and several other high-level national teams participating in Group C in Limassol.

However, that won’t be the only basketball event on the island in August, as the lead-up to the most anticipated tournament of the year will be featured by another friendly-based event in Cyprus.

As officially announced in a press release, Greece, Serbia, Israel, and Cyprus will face each other in the ECOMMBX Cup, scheduled from August 9th to 10th in the newly renovated Spyros Kyprianou Arena. That will be a test event ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2025.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Deni Avdija, and many other European stars of the four national teams will be featured in the event.

“The CBF and the Organizing Committee are making a tremendous effort to ensure EuroBasket is organized to the highest standard. This is why this very crucial test event is being held by the Federation, as part of the preparation of our national team,” the President of the Cyprus Basketball Federation said.

“We invite the public to attend and witness other unique games up close. Beyond EuroBasket, Cyprus and Limassol will also host the Greece vs Serbia clash, with the two best basketball players on the planet competing right here in our country,” Andreas Mouzourides added.
