That’s so hot the chooks will be laying hard boiled eggs
Bring back winter ffs, rather be out in shorts in -5 than this crap.
Its colder outside now than in, crack open a window, point the fan outside from a meter or so back from the window, open up another window where the air can pass between them, you’ll circulate cool air from outside from the window with no fan, and blow exhaust / hot air out of the window with the fan – just like a PC case.
Alexa, whits the melting point of yer average Scot x
Baby monitor clocking the wee ones room at 27.9C at 22:40… had the windows open early this morning, shut for the day, and open again at night- as your apparently supposed to do but it’s rather hot.
I always loved summer – gone right off the heat with having kids though.
Mine just hit 19! (Shaded bungalow, 30 deg outside) Stay frosty 🙂
Open your windows and ventilate your home now. Use fans to help circulate the air blowing through the windows if you have them.
Tomorrow open them for a couple of hours before around 9am. Then close them and your curtains and keep them closed till it gets cool outside again.
People think they need to open windows during the day to cool their homes, this is terrible.

Just keep your fluids up.
Doesn’t help there is hardly a breath of wind to get some air circulation.

If it’s hot, turn off your heating!

No digital thermometer for me. Currently 23⁰ but I’ve had the window open since sunset, it was 26⁰ at 10PM
It’s 28+ in my bedroom, I’m sleeping on the couch tonight.
It’s amazing. Not shivering and slamming the heating on like I will be in a few months. Enjoying (and loving) it while it lasts
1. Run cold water through a vest top
2. Wring it so it is no longer dripping wet
3. Put it on and if you are still too hot, sit in front of a fan.
Basically the things your granny told you would give you the flu like sitting in drafts or wearing wet clothes.
Australian diaspora here to help.
If you can, a cross breeze — 2 opposite windows.
Damp cloth in front of the fan is an old-school AC substitute.
Cold shower before bed.
Ice lollies (great to keep kids hydrated, too).
Get a towel damp, and freeze it. Drape it around your neck. (Not when you sleep or you will wake up wet and cramped.)
Don’t turn on the oven or the cooker. Cold meats, bread, and salad for tea.
Got up to 28 in our upstairs flat – even with the curtains closed 🙁
29c inside my bathroom. 29.
tempted to sit outside bc it’s cooler than in the house rn
