BRICS nations slam Trump tariffs, condemn strikes on Iran • FRANCE 24 English

Trade tariffs unilaterally imposed by the United States were a significant part of the agenda at the brick summit in Rio de Janeiro. 11 emerging powers including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa voiced serious concerns about them. In a final summit statement that didn’t mention the US or its president by name, they said such measures were illegal and arbitrary. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, charged with war crimes in Ukraine, participated via video link. He said the block’s influence continues to grow. The process of changing the world’s economic order continues to gain momentum. Everything indicates that the model of liberal globalization has become obsolete. The center of business activity is shifting towards the developing markets. The ongoing war in the Middle East was also high on the agenda. The summit declaration called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. Absolutely nothing justifies the terrorist actions perpetrated by Hamas. But we cannot remain indifferent to the genocide practiced by Israel in Gaza.   8. Small wonder that Trump is now taking BRICS more seriously, to the point of threatening it with tariffs. It does now appear that Anglo/American imperialism and it's NATO military bloc has met it's economic and military match in the form of a Sino/Russian inspired BRICS partnership of countries. This must surely be the greatest ever form of economic and military resistance to the continued expansion of Anglo/American global imperialism.

  16. You can slow them down but you can not screw us over. The world is BRICS and BRICS is the world in 2025 and beyond. Rotten taco can love it hate it spin it but never mistake it or deny it.

    BRICS is Pro-Democracy, Pro-Freedom, Pro-Sovereignty.
