Big of TanOrganic to campaign for tax breaks on products they now sell. If that generosity extends beyond press releases and into actual pricing, then I’m all for it!
“TanOrganic”? Lady I’m not convinced *your* product should go to zero VAT. It may have SPF, but it doesn’t sound like the basic premise of your product.
Now standard suncreams, yes those make sense to be zero rated.
Bit facetious from her. Standard suncreams yes. Hers ahhh I duuno
We could remove the Vat on sunscreen, but do you really think the price would come down. That profit would just be pocketed.
She’s not wrong in fairness.
Ban the beds
Ultimately I think getting caught up in whether her product should or should not be included is a problem for later. This is ultimately the right thing. Get it in place first, then we can argue all day about whether she was doing the right thing to be a grifter later.
Otherwise we’ll be stuck in the very Irish world of not doing the right thing because we’re stuck arguing about some small, relatively pointless detail in the grand scheme of things.
SPF is unbelievably expensive now. Poor families are at serious risk, the companies selling it are shafting people, and skin cancer cases are on the rise.
We need a bitta cop on.
