LOVELY salad cream work across the top there. Hopefully those new potatoes are still raw in the middle to provide a crunch, and the ham rolls contain lumps of unmelted cheese.
On summer weekend in the 90s, it would be picky salad bits with hot beef or lamb from a roast at my nans. Beautiful.
Ooh yes those radishes
As a single chap… I going to be making similar but with quiche.
No salad cream. Rather mayonnaise (I lived in Belgium).
Cold new potatoes and salad cream is the business.
I can taste the spring onion from here.
“Just bits and pieces”
Had salad with french dressing, plum tomatoes, olives and spring onions with pan fried salmon, was lush.
Pickled sliced beetroot, hell yeah let’s go
I hope you’re not complaining. That looks amazing!
Anything that doesn’t involve the oven going on
In Glasgow this is called ‘Hoose salad’
Fucking nostalgia.
But growing up in the 90s we wouldn’t have any of that French dressing!!!
Takes me right back to 1978
No because my husband made dinner this evening and it was exactly what is pictured in this post 😂
Chuck a quiche on there and that would’ve been our meal.
Just missing the hard boiled eggs and this could be what my mum would serve.
Honestly it hits so good in this heat tho
My mum would call this salad, but also adding great big lumps of cheese to the plate and bread and butter
Man I miss that creamy British style coleslaw.
Hang on what happened to shit with sugar on?
It needs a few random crisps…
Yep. This was often Sunday tea in the summer when relatives came over
I’m questioning everything by the way this is getting such a positive response. This looks horrendous, I would honestly retch if this were served to me. I’ve long defended the British food culture to american criticism but perhaps they’re right? Honestly who the fuck is eating this?
Yes and I’d always get the bread out cos its pretty much a dismantled sandwich

Picky bits.
My mum made something very similar to that
By mum for mum? Or by mum for kids?
