Electric cars are 73% cleaner than ICE vehicles, ICCT study shows. “We’ve recently seen auto industry leaders misrepresenting the emissions math on hybrids. But life cycle analysis is not a choose-your-own-adventure exercise.”

  1. I drive a 2013 Fusion Hybrid. Bought the extended electric warranty when we purchased it. It has been the best car we ever owned. Replaced the auxiliary battery twice. Oil changes and tires. That’s it. 127K miles lifetime millage 42.3. I signed up for a Tesla on signing day in 2016 but my trade in value was too small. Will trade up to a BEV. Lots of choices.. Thinking a Rivian R2. Trump and big oil cannot turn back the tide. I cannot image Gen Z and Gen Alfa trading in their E-bikes and E-Scooters for gas anything. Where I live their parents drive lots of EV’s.

  2. Report though is very European centric because it relies on the greener nature of the European markets energy grid.

  3. There were many studies done on it. When you consider coal, oil and gas burning to generate electricity to charge it, pollution from toxic lithium, and faster tire wear and toxic tire rubber microdust pollution (not many considering) because your EV is heavier than ICE vehicles due to battery weight, your EV actually pollutes more.

  4. “what you are seeing is the truth, not some made-up horse puckey designed to satisfy a political agenda. ”

Come on… Every single institute or lobbying officine.. Anyway.

Meanwhile very few admit that car park is aging actually, vehicles msp sky rocketing while fewer and fewer people are able to offer themself brand new cars.

And that like E production, solution is in a well monitored mix backed with clever and cheap depollution/ recycling systems. No f**ing fancy so called  “change the world” solution.

  5. Cars are not the solution. Even with everyone switching to EVs, there’s still dangerous effects from tyre and brake pollution. Don’t get me wrong, it would help though. Although maybe the tyre/brake pollution isn’t as bad from the perspective of the climate(?). Just our health and ecosystems.
