Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, tied the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a quaint ceremony at Windsor on July 17, 2020.
The event was under wraps and attended by a small group due to tough social distancing rules at the height of the Covid 19 pandemic.
With Her Majesty, the late Queen Elizabeth present prior to her death in 2022, the wedding was a secret affair taking place at St. James’s Palace with celebrations following in Buckingham Palace’s gardens.

In a deeply personal gesture, Beatrice honoured her grandmother by donning the Queen’s vintage gown and tiara, much to the delight of royal enthusiasts.
However, royal expert Marlene Koenig revealed that the choice of the retro frock actually came about due to a significant glitch, the Express reports.
Beatrice initially planned a different dress for her wedding day; however, design work halted amidst the coronavirus pandemic disruptions.
Stepping in for assistance, her grandmother Queen Elizabeth granted Beatrice permission to wear her own Norman Hartnell evening dress, which underwent rapid alterations to fit the bride within three weeks.

Koenig told the Express: “It’s just a thought but her real wedding gown was not finished and got stuck at the designers because of Covid she could no longer work on it. That’s why her grandmother gave her this lovely gown and they were able to refashion it.”
Pandemic restrictions also meant that even Beatrice’s bridal shoes became an issue. She couldn’t have the ones she wanted in time, thus, she resorted to wearing a pair she already owned.
Miss Koenig remarked: “She didn’t even wear a new pair of shoes, which is unlikely for anyone. It was probably nearly done but the designer couldn’t do anything more, couldn’t finish it, whereas within the bubble they could rework this gown.”
The final touch to the Queen’s ensemble was made by her dresser Angela Kelly, who complemented the outfit with the cherished Fringe Tiara, the same one the Queen inherited from her grandmother Queen Mary in 1953.
