Russian forces launched a coordinated drone assault on northern Ukraine, employing unmanned aerial vehicles that traversed Belarusian airspace before targeting the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, as was reported by Militarnyi and region’s local residents on July 13.
Residents of border communities recorded multiple Russian attack drones entering and maintaining flight over Belarusian territory late on the night of July 12, before turning southward toward Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region.
A video recorded on the Slavgorod highway and shared online captures at least one Shahed suicide drone flying overhead.

As noted by the author of the Telegram channel Nikolaevsky Vanyok, three unmanned aerial vehicles traversed Belarusian airspace at a steady altitude, eluding local radars for over five minutes, and only descended once they crossed into Ukrainian territory.
Belarusian authorities have not officially responded to the incursions, though past incidents involving Geran-2 (Shahed-136) loitering munitions suggest a pattern of limited engagement by Minsk’s air-defense systems even when violations are publicly acknowledged.
Earlier, Ukraine used advanced electronic-warfare systems to intercept and alter the satellite coordinates of Russian Shahed strike drones, forcing them to deviate into Russian or Belarusian airspace rather than their intended targets.
