After having to postpone our Christmas trip due a very dramatic horse injury (10/10 would not recommend), we’ve finally booked our two-week visit to Norway this summer!
We’ll be staying just outside Oslo with my partner’s family — they still run a working farm, which is just charming to this American city girl.
Since my partner is Norwegian, we don’t really do the tourist thing. It’s more long walks, quiet time, grocery store adventures and family gatherings where — no exaggeration — there are somehow ten different types of cake every time. I still don’t understand how that became a thing, but I fully support it.
So, to the Norwegians (and honorary Norwegians) of Reddit:
What’s your favorite underrated thing about living in or visiting Norway?🇳🇴
The little joys, the things you miss when you’re gone, or the stuff visitors don’t usually notice.
I’m ready to romanticize all of it — farm life, handball games, and everyone being tall, blonde and beautiful – whatever else you’ve got.
