With more than three decades of leadership experience in information technology, Mr. Mariano has made his mark in hybrid cloud adoption and digital transformation. He has had an impactful tenure at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), which he joined in 2010 as a manager of networking solutions architects, remaining in that role until 2013 when he transitioned to director of presales. In 2016, he became the Latin America leader for business development, sales enablement, solutions and technology. Since then, he has held roles as director of presales and enablement for Latin America and South Europe and the vice president of worldwide sales enablement.
Prior to HPE, Mr. Mariano held influential roles at 3Com as director of technology and manager of systems engineering from 2005 to 2010 and at Enterasys Networks as systems engineering manager and channel systems engineer from 1999 to 2005. He began his technology career in 1989 as a research and development coordinator at TWR Informática and later became a partner-owner at Connet, an IT systems integrator, from 1992 to 1998. He also served as a consultant to the World Bank, where he contributed to impactful infrastructure modernization projects.
In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Mariano has contributed significantly to academia as an MBA professor at FIAP-Faculdade de Informática e Administração Paulista from 2004 to 2017 and previously as a professor at Universidade Católica de Pernambuco in 1998. His commitment to education is evident in his efforts to foster a culture of continuous learning within his professional environment.
Mr. Mariano’s academic background includes an International Executive Master of Business Administration from FIA Business School in 2010, with international coursework completed at Vanderbilt University, Emlyon Business School, and Cambridge University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, completed in 1989, and a postgraduate degree in information technology from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, earned in 1998.
A lifelong learner, Mr. Mariano has earned numerous technical certifications and completed the HP Engage Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program at Stanford University in 2014. His thought leadership is reflected in notable publications, including “Cloud Computing and Information Technology Strategy” and “ToR to Core: Challenges, Trends and Best Practices of Networks for Data Centers,” both presented at major industry conferences and journals.
Mr. Mariano’s dedication to excellence has been recognized with awards such as the Latin America Winners Summit Award from HPE in 2022, the Latin America Excellence Award from 3Com in 2009 and the MVP Sales Engineer Brazil Award from Enterasys Networks in 2004.
