"President Trump made a very smart decision and made an agreement with NATO, according to which Europe and Canada will pay for the weapons, and the US will manufacture them.

This also sends a very clear message to Vladimir Putin: we gave you a chance for peace. President Trump is a peacemaker. But if you want war, we will arm Ukraine, and Europe will pay for it," he said.

  1. Well then there’s no obligation for Ukraine to give any kind of access to our rare earths to the US. Art of the shlyapa yebana dibil vaflist

  2. Trump failed to negotiate the deal he promised.

Never forget that he failed because Putin played him.

  3. Better than not at all I guess, more annoyed it took Trump this long.

The other issue is giving the Kremlin madman 50 days, when really should be giving him a week maybe even less.

  4. ” Trump made a very smart decision” Ah fuck, I can’t continue reading.

  5. As long as Ukraine is receiving what they need, I don’t care who pays for it. I’ll happily pay an additional tax here in Denmark to help fund the fight against Russia.

  6. ending free military aid….so why he is asking for 350 billion$?

  7. So… They’re now getting the newest spec and models? No longer 40 year old hand me downs?

  8. Can’t believe we’re being played like this, funneling all our money to the US so they can profit from this war. We shouldn’t give them a cent and jack our own arms industry to the tits. Money that could have been put into building better, faster missiles is now again being siphoned off to the snakes across the pond.

  9. Go fuck the USA, so they can be great again in ‘their own playground’.

  10. I hope us Europeans learn from that and fucking Invest in Ukraine. The US is less reliable than China with orange man at the helm and Europe needs to get it’s shit together if it wants to be able of standing up to us and china instead of becoming a play ball. Paying for now is fine we should just make sure that Europe isn’t dependent on the wannabe world police next time shit happens. Also if we start producing arms we can sell them to the us for high prices when they inevitably start shit in the Pacific.

Edit: thanks for the upvotes and replies I didn’t expect so many to share this view to be honest.

  11. I can’t help but wonder how being a war profiteer will influence his Nobel peace prize ambitions.

  12. I thought “the mineral deal’ was there to pay for the weapons with future profits. So now Ukraine lost half of its minerals and Canada and Europe will pay for the weapons. Mafia level extortion.

  13. Calling to hang your vice president, while assaulting police officers, during an insurrection isn’t what I would call a “peacemaker”

  14. Wait wasn’t all US aid lend lease so not free to begin with?

So Trump just want the money up front now instead? Dick move regardless.

  15. This was literally the most optimistic case scenario for giving equipment to Ukraine under a Trump admin and I thought it was extremely unlikely and hardcore copium. As a European I’m just happy there’s more equipment to deliver to Ukraine now, and I doubt Ukrainians are too upset; as long as they get shit to kill Russians or stop Russians from killing them.

  16. Slava Ukraini. Putin swineface is such a failed diplomat he cant even appease his own puppet Donal Trump XD. I hope in four years, usa will undertsand again taht russia is just evil and they are not to be treated as normal people.

  17. Stand over men eventually get their comeuppance and that all this is, stand over.

  18. We don’t mind paying (UK), just send the shit. Lets go

  19. Putin is the best agent the military-industrial complex has ever had. The American arms industry will erect golden statues of Putin. They will then stand right next to the statues of Trump.

  20. “We will arm Ukraine”

No, silly goose, you just said Canada and Europe will arm Ukraine.

You will just do business on blood. Let’s make it very clear.

Thank you US, that you don’t sell to russia yet.

  21. And once again Trump gets credit for “sending weapons”. No, he’s not. He is selling weapons to his allies. His allies are sending weapons.

  22. It will be paid by NATO.. Last time i checked USA is part of NATO ..

  23. So the US and Taco Don aren’t delivering weapons, they only sell weapons! Europe is giving Ukraine weapons!

  24. Yeah Ukraine will just give all contracts for reconstruction and rare earth to europe then after peace. “Mineral deal wasnt signed in good faith, we dont accept it anymore”.

  25. Great thing, NATO allies are now on par with countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, or India for the United States.
Perhaps we’ll also SELL our help to the US when planes start flying into their skyscrapers or they feel like intervening somewhere in the 3rd world again.

  26. And the payments made to the US will be part of those 5% they committed to spend anyway. So nothing that isn’t budgeted for already anyway. (And a target the US isn’t going to meet any time soon, unless it’s GDP really tanks)

  27. Then if things escalate “We didnt send them to frontline” xD

  28. The aid was never free. Isn’t that what the minerals deal was for – to pay for the aid? Europe has contributed more already and has not extorted Ukraine.

  29. well done US. Its much like the Chinese ‘support’ for Russia. All paid for.

  30. This was part of the NATO 5% spend deal, FYI.

Aid to Ukraine (both monetary and equipment) count towards the 5% budget target. Europeans specifically demanded this be part of the deal, so it will have the result of encouraging nations to continue providing aid.

  31. “President trump.is a peacemaker”
Yeah i can tell, its really shown these last few months

  32. The message Russia is receiving “Trump will only aid allies conditionally.”

  33. Why this is called AID then? If it is paid by someone, that someone just bought the stuff.

  34. The situation is fucked up but I wouldnt be to quick to blame the US. It was mainly american military aid that kept Ukraine in the fight and we Europeans were the ones coming up short on hardware to give. Its easy to point fingers but I want to remind everybody that the US are the only ones right now able to supply Ukraine with aid enough to withstand the orcs. Europe is not. As long as we cant do better, we have no place to whine about this. This happens when you forget most basic lessons of international relations. Trump understands that, cause he is a grifter and exploiter and he is, as hard as it is to accept, in a place where everybody has to suck up to him for Ukraines sake. I can only hope Europe steps up. But as things stand, it wont come into effect before the russian agression against Ukraine ends one way or the other.
