When Bondi said, “I have the files on my desk, she was assuming optimistically that the list was in the files without knowing for sure. Having lived in Alabama almost my entire life, I can attest to the fact that this is how these people’s minds works. They are totally unaware of their own biases and have an extreme amount of confidence that their “feelings” and “hunches” and “common sense” are facts.

    I think they all assumed there was a list, hoped there was a list, felt there was a list, but had no proof there actually was a list.
