Only in the UK would people find it acceptable to put icing and sprinkles on a hot dog bun then have the nerve to call it a cake

Iced buns are/were popular in Australia too!
Wow this is so funny and true. I have never seen this posted before.
On an unrelated note, if gmail can build a spam filter, surely reddit could too.
We don’t call it a cake, we call it an iced bun. Because that is literally what it is.
Americans, man. No sense at all.
There is a lot of sugar in those badboys. Also jog on.
The Aussies apparently do similar with bread, I think they call it fairy bread
Only on Reddit would people find it acceptable to post the same exact thing multiple times a month and then have the nerve to call it a new post
This sub has gone to the fucking dogs.
It’s ok in America they have the nerve to make cake and call it bread
Hundreds and Thousands
cut it down the middle. butter it and stick a flake in it 😁
saw these loads in the past, could never get my head around them.
The quality of this sub makes me wonder why it has so many subscribers.
It’s my turn to post this tomorrow.
hey if it’s nice, it’s nice and if you your self are as baked as the iced finger you’re eating, it’s a winner
Isn’t it brioche too though, so the bread itself is actually a little sweet? I remember having these at the tuck shop during sports days when I was a wean and the “hotdog bun” was actually a brioche (or some kind of sweet bread) bun
This isn’t a cake, but I would definitely eat it
Nobody calls that a cake
Only we don’t call them cakes 🤷 they are iced buns
No one calls it a cake it’s an iced bun you fanny
It’s a sweet dough.
iced bun dummy
We call it an iced bun. Which is a bun, with icing on it. A cake is made of cake. Only a complete buffoon or an American would get flustered by such a simple concept.
Iced bun, it’d be a cake in the US because of the sugar content in bread.
Does this mean jam on bread is a tart?
Its an iced bun, not a cake. Literally describes exactly what it is.
You can go ahead and leave. They are magnificent. Often, the cheapest and most filling option in the nearest cake shop line of sight to your secondary school gates.
Many a schoolchild has been saved after forgetting a packed lunch by these sugary bad boys.
in US they have diabetes and have the nerve to call it food.
Sticky bun in oz
This probably has less sugar than what the US calls bread.
We are lucky to have the reasonably high food standards we do. They could be higher though.
And this still contains less sugar that the average American slice of bread!
Craving an iced bun now!
In the Uk we use sweetened bread, which in the us would be called bread
But no one calls it cake, it’s a bun. Also having eaten loads of these (sans sprinkles, I only ever see the plain iced ones) and loads of hot dogs, I think the dough has sugar in it too. It’s basically the same dough you’d use to make any other kind of bun, just in a more convenient shape for shoving into your mouth.
it’s not a cake, it’s a bun.
it’s called an iced bun with sprinkles, not a cake.
are you american
