Trump is fast-tracking new coal mines – even when they don’t make economic sense. One coal mining company after another has filed for bankruptcy, with many of them simply walking away from the ecological damage they’d wrought. Now a new one is opening under the guise of an “energy emergency.”

7. The funniest part about the opening is they claim it has “zero environmental impacts”.

8. It’s kind of cute. He thinks he can buffalo the economy into doing what he wants, like he does to Republicans in Congress. Just because you force a coal mine to open doesn’t mean it’s going to be profitable. The people owning them are just filing the paperwork to shut him up.

10. Businesses vote with their pocketbooks. Why would a business want to employ coal power when its cost-per-kilowatt is much higher than renewable energy sources, even natural gas? They won’t without massive government subsidies.

    Drumpf is desperately trying to prop up a dying industry. I guess all that money corrupt coal barons are stuffing in his pockets is too enticing.

    This won’t end well.
