  1. never been to big commercial festivals before?

  2. Water quality in Belgium is good, just drink it, you’ll be fine.

  3. It’s mainly business but if that tap water isn’t coming from the tap in the ground, but a storage container above ground, that water can reach certain temperatures that are ideal for certain bacteria to grow…

Also the hygiëne might not be optimal if people and objects on mass are touching the end of those taps etc. etc.

It’s more advantages for TML to sell you overpriced bottled water and don’t risk the responsibility of making someone sick drinking that water.

  4. Once there are some garden hoses for the connections in the back, they can no longer claim it’s potable water. But it is probably from the same main waterline as the houses in the neighborhood…
You should be fine as there is a massive amount of flushing of the lines from constant usage…

  5. If they put up a sign they are not liable when you drink from it. Just that simple.

Also that way they don’t have to consider certain regulations.

  6. There should be free water available at the refreshment points.

  7. If it´s labeled non drinkable it´s probably non drinkable

Meaning it´s not from a controlled source, and/or pumped through a verified for human consumption installation. The thing we require for it to be guaranteed safe to drink.

Does that mean it´s unsafe? Maybe? Maybe not. That´s why it´s labeled non drinkable, because it´s legally non potable/non drinkwater now.

  8. It’s because tapwater at festivals don’t come from local pipes but temporary installations. They should be safe however there is always that risk that that water can become contaminated. It’s a small chance but festivals warn not to drink the tapwater in case someone does get sick from drinking it. That way they aren’t responsible for any bills when someone gets sick, they have warned you not to do so.

  9. Go to the first aid/red cross tent and ask for a bottle of water or say you are in need of water.

  10. Nope. You gotta buy it. Do not drink that water, it comes from rain or overground storage.

I worked at the food/breakfast area for the campers many years ago. At the time, we were howling laughing from the fact that apparently attendees had to pay to charge their phones.

It’s a large commercial festival like many others

  11. I remember a lot of people got sick when they drank water from a tap at Modulair when there was a sign which told it was non drinkable, and indeed it wasn’t… Idk about TML and their water supply.

  12. Free water should be mandatory. Everywhere but especially on festivals with high drug consumation.

  13. I didn’t go since a few years but at that time there were some place with drinkable water for free to fill your bottles. If you have something to boil it, take this one, boil it first and then use it when it’s cold, but it take some time and organisation:)

  14. I say you roll the dice and let us know how if the dirrehea hit

  15. Lol but when I say they’re ripping off customers I get downvoted (different post)

They have enough money to replace a mainstage in 1 day, they’re also well aware that half their visitors are on drugs. They should be handing out water, especially in this heat. But no, everything for the profit margins.

BTW, those are taps at the toilets I’d not wanna drink that water, how many people touched the tap with their dirty hands after using the toilet?

  16. Why would you expect to be able to drink gor free at a festival? Everyone knows they make big money on food and drink stands.

  17. Free water is’t obligated by belgian law. Its a common mistake, free water availability is only obligated by law if water is not sold at the bar.

  18. They 10000% have dedicated drinking water tab, ask where they are.

Last festival I went (rampage) you couldn’t drink it because it was reused water. People who did got sick, won’t risk it

  19. After a weekend of festival you’re going to have the runs anyway, just drink it. Stay hydrated, stay healthy.

  20. globally drinking water should have a max price everywhere no matter if it is in aldi or at tomorowland . they should make it a global rule . you want a beer or expensive cocktail ? sure , you pay the price . but you want some simple water that we need to survive ? max like 1 euro or so / half liter

  21. Bear Grylls be like, oh no free water, better drink my own piss!
