WASHINGTON (TNND) — Vice President JD Vance on Friday called The Wall Street Journal’s article about a letter President Donald Trump reportedly sent Jeffrey Epstein “complete and utter bulls**t.”

Vance expressed disbelief in a post on social media platform X that the letter, which the newspaper said Trump sent for the financier’s birthday in 2003, doesn’t seem like it was written by the future president.

“Forgive my language but this story is complete and utter bullshit. The WSJ should be ashamed for publishing it,” the vice president wrote. “Where is this letter? Would you be shocked to learn they never showed it to us before publishing it? Does anyone honestly believe this sounds like Donald Trump?”

The National News Desk could not confirm whether the newspaper showed Vance the letter before publishing a description of it. In the article, The Wall Street Journal wrote that an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein was written within a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman, whose breasts were depicted with small arcs and with Trump’s signature acting as her pubic hair.

The conversation is reportedly written:

“Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything.

Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.

Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.

Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.

Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?

Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.

Donald: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump reportedly told The Wall Street Journal in an interview on Tuesday, two days before the article’s publication, that he didn’t create the alleged letter or picture.

“This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” the newspaper quoted the president as saying.

“I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women,” Trump reportedly added. “It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

In 2002, New York magazine also quoted Trump as saying in an interview that Epstein was a “terrific guy” with a desire for “younger” women.

“He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side,” Trump reportedly claimed. “No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

The National News Desk requested comment from Dow Jones, which publishes The Wall Street Journal, Friday around 4:10 p.m. but did not receive a response by publication.
