Carina Scholz and Soiree D’ Amour OLD

Germany’s Carina Scholz on Soiree D’ Amour OLD won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle at Dunajsky Klatov in Slovakia Saturday to post her first points toward seeking a start in the championship Final at Fort Worth, Texas next April.

Carina and the 16-year-old Oldenburg mare scored 74.440% for the victory to earn 20 points toward seeking qualification in Western Europe. The pair competed in their first Final in Basel, Switzerland last April.

Sweden’s Beata Söderberg on Talento, making her World Cup debut on the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was runner-up on 73.655%.

Justina Vanagaite-Samuile on Nabab, her Olympic and two-time World Cup Final mount for Lithuania, placed third on 72.970%. Justina and Nabab, 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, lead the standings for two places in the Final for Central Europe.
