CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WILX) – Families got the chance to take their kids to the Charlotte Public Library Saturday for the annual Science Alive Program.
The program is designed to stimulate further learning for families by teaching science to kids with live animals.
William Neill, who helps teach at even, talked about why they have this type of event.
“Increasing the study of science, whether it’s in school, whether it’s here at the library today, but, you know, we want more scientists, we want more critical thinkers,” said Neill. “We want people to look at the world around them as scientists do. And we think the best way to get kids and everybody really into science with living things. You know, the reason every textbook begins with life sciences, people tend to be interested in life on Earth. And uh, you know, introducing animals today as we’re doing, you know, that’s one step towards a life of science.”
