There’s a lot of talk about Vice President JD Vance(Image: Getty Images)Some are speculating that JD Vance could become President of the United States by the end of 2025, amidst a “very drastic” situation involving Donald Trump six months into his second term. Political commentator Josh Greene has suggested that the 40-year old Vice President might step in to replace Donald Trump for two key reasons.
“Now why am I saying this?” he posed to his TikTok audience in a recent video. “Well, between Donald Trump’s Epstein file scandal and his recent health diagnosis – he know as a chronic vein condition, which is causing swelling in his hands and ankles – this is a very drastic situation.”
The controversy over Trump’s supposed inclusion on Epstein’s list of elite clients has been stirring debates. Despite Trump’s vehement denials and his promise to release these files during his 2024 presidential campaign, there has been no disclosure.
Additionally, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that Trump sent a “creepy” 50th birthday card to the now-disgraced financier Epstein, allegedly writing, “may every day be another wonderful secret” with an illustration of a nude woman.
Trump has refuted this claim and responded on his social media platform Truth Social – yet this hasn’t quelled the demands for his resignation from office.
The President’s health has also been a hot topic in recent days. On Thursday (July 17), the White House revealed that the 79 year old underwent a “comprehensive exam” and was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt called it a benign condition that often affects those over 70. This news comes as Trump had trouble fitting his swollen foot into shoes following the confirmation of his health issue.
In his video, Greene made some political predictions, meanwhile, suggesting: “It’s time for Project 2025’s next phase to kick into gear where [investor and entrepreneur] Peter Thiel’s man, JD Vance can take over after Trump resigns before the end of the year.
“This is just the beginning for their plan. This is all purely speculation, but there is signs to suggest Donald Trump will not be able to finish his term – both because of his popularity, which is plummeting and his health is not in good shape.”
Greene concluded with skepticism about JD Vance’s potential leadership, however, pondering: “Do I think JD Vance is going to do a better job than Donald Trump? Absolutely not – I think he is going to be even more beholden to tech oligarchs who will really be controlling his every move. But we’ll see what happens.”
One TikTok user who responded to the theory, predicted: “This is good for Democrats, it ensures Republicans will lose the Presidency in 2028 (if there are still elections of course). Vance has the charisma of a bag of rocks. MAGA will not ride for him like they do Trump.”
A second expressed their concern, adding: “We’re in deeper trouble should that happen. JD Vance is just Trump with a fresher face and newer batteries.”
A third person exclaimed: “God help us. He is worse than Trump.”
Whilst a fourth criticized: “Oh no and JD Vance might do two more years. I did not want to hear that. But is very true what a nightmare from hell.”
Yet, there are still those who stand by Trump, including a TikTok user who commented: “President Trump is fine and we hope he stays for a third term.”
And another supporter declared: “There is no bright future without President Trump.”
