  1. US General actually only said that Kaliningrad would not be a big problem to take care of if a war actually started. This is a really stupid and misleading post.

  2. I would say he rather used Kaliningrad as an example of what NATO is capable of in a military situation. Of course the kremlin will still take it as a threat, but they treat everything as a threat.

  3. A Russian pivot to control the Suwalki Gap is considered by many to be the prologue to WW3, so let’s hope it never happens

  4. I’d say just return it to Germany.

Trouble is the Germans don’t want to have it.

  5. NATO doesn’t want Kaliningrad.

I’d be shocked if the US General has any idea why.

Essentially it boils down that Kaliningrad is a different culture from it’s neighbors.

So if NATO took it over, they’re not going to force Kaliningrad to change it’s culture, so at some point  NATO would looking to exit out and let Kaliningrad go back to being Kaliningrad.

The only real option is if Russia imploded and NATO/EU helped Kaliningrad become it’s own country.

If NATO invaded Kaliningrad, the people aren’t gonna welcome outsiders forcing them to be it’s own country, or worse, being used as a bargaining chip.

  6. Russia couldn’t even take a country on it’s border. Now is the perfect time to attack them as their even weaker now.
