July the 22nd, 2025 – Zagreb is set to play host to an enormous military parade, the likes of which haven’t been seen in years.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, a fantastic display is in the works for Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders, as well as the 30th anniversary of Operation Storm (Oluja) this year. Zagreb will host a ceremonial military parade on July the 31st, the likes of which haven’t been seen in the Croatian capital for a great many years.

As announced by the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the Zagreb military parade will take place along Ulica grada Vukovara, from Avenija Marina Držića to Savska ulica, starting at 17:00. People will have the opportunity to see first-hand the up to date military readiness, equipment and technological progress of the Croatian defence system.

Over 3,400 members of the Croatian Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior (MUP), the Civil Protection Directorate, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, the Judicial Police, the Croatian Fire Brigade, Croatian veterans, historical units and members of the allied armed forces will participate in this large parade.

In addition to infantry units, Zagreb’s residents and visitors will have the opportunity to see motorised and mechanised units with more than 500 combat and non-combat vehicles. That will include modern systems such as the Leopard tank, the Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicle, combat drones and other advanced military equipment.

The flight programme over Zagreb as part of this military parade will certainly attract special attention. More than 40 aircraft belonging to the Croatian Air Force and the Ministry of the Interior will participate in it, using helicopters and transport aircraft to multi-role Rafale combat aircraft.

People will also be able to follow the display put on by the Croatian Navy via video walls, which will present the capabilities of Croatian military ships and vessels for various purposes within the country’s maritime defence.

In addition to the military part, the programme is also set to include cultural and artistic content, which will further emphasise the symbolism of unity, gratitude and pride associated with one of the most important dates in modern Croatian history.
