>It must have been a disturbing sight for the other hiking groups. From head to toe, from peaked caps to hobnailed boots, the men were wearing Wehrmacht uniforms, an eyewitness told Radio SRF.
>She recognised swastikas, or swastikas, on some of the uniforms, as well as other symbols from the Nazi era. The group hiked through the Wildhorn massif to Iffigenalp, where they then spent the night in tents.
>The police had already received a tip-off about the Nazi group on Friday, says Deborah Zaugg, media spokesperson for the Bern cantonal police. They then came across the group above the Iffigenalp on Saturday.
>Zaugg says: “The group consisted of around 25 people from various European countries as well as from the USA.” The police then instructed the group to take off their jackets with Nazi symbols – for preventative reasons: “We wanted to avoid any sudden confrontations with third parties.”
>__No consequences under criminal law__
>They also took the men’s personal details, says Deborah Zaugg. However, this has no consequences under criminal law. In contrast to many other European countries, the wearing of Nazi symbols has not yet been banned in Switzerland. This is one of the reasons why right-wing extremists have repeatedly held meetings in Switzerland in recent years.
>The international group in question must also have carefully considered in advance which country they would be walking around in with their Wehrmacht uniforms. The Federal Council is currently in the process of drafting a law banning Nazi symbols.
>This comes after both the National Council and the Council of States voted by a clear majority in favour of such a ban in 2024. Displaying swastikas or the Hitler salute should also be a criminal offence in Switzerland in future.

Meanwhile, I could get persecuted for flipping the bird or telling someone who almost ran me over on their bike to fuck off.
This country is so backwards sometimes…
Nazi scum
What do you mean by “unusual”?
The police didn’t arrest them because they were the police (allegedly).
I have strong opinions on how to deal with nazis and fascists, and it comes no where near “tolerating” it or condoning “freedom of expression.”
The paradox of tolerance is real. All of these shits should be charged for being terrorists and spreading hate speech. It would appear there are laws about incitement of hatred, but dont seem to be enforced?
>*Any person who publicly incites hatred or discrimination against a person or a group of persons on the grounds of their race, ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation,*
>*any person who publicly disseminates ideologies that have as their object the systematic denigration or defamation of that person or group of persons,*
>*any person who with the same objective organises, encourages or participates in propaganda campaigns,*
>*any person who publicly denigrates or discriminates against another or a group of persons on the grounds of their race, ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation in a manner that violates human dignity, whether verbally, in writing or pictorially, by using gestures, through acts of aggression or by other means, or any person who on any of these grounds denies, trivialises or seeks justification for genocide or other crimes against humanity,*
>*any person who refuses to provide a service to another on the grounds of that person’s race, ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation when that service is intended to be provided to the general public,*

>LAWS AND PENALTIES FOR TERRORIST OFFENCES
>The maximum sentence for terrorist offences is life imprisonment. Article 260 ter of the Criminal Code stipulates a prison sentence of at least ten years for membership of an organization whose aim is to commit acts of criminal violence seeking to intimidate a population or to compel a State or international organization to act or refrain from acting in a certain manner, or which supports such an organization in its activities.
>**Offences of recruiting or training terrorists or of travelling in order to be trained for terrorist purposes were added in recent years. A minimum five-year prison sentence is imposed.Art. 260 sexto, Criminal Code.**

That’s actually pretty funny tbh
“A disturbing sight”?
I mean we don’t live in the World War 2 anymore. I would simply guess this to be a play, costume party or anything. The war ist over.
Don’t live in your ancient believes anymore.
Siri, play Chumbawamba.
It would be rather hilarious to see the conversations, with the police saying “We’re getting there buddies, but that’s just “too soon”. Wait a few years and we’ll support you in trying to apply some kind of arbitrary ranking based on the color of the skin or the eyes/hair.
I always imagine the meme from the Simpsons with a panel saying “OK/NOT OK” with a scale going from white to black. And the utter retards thinking it’s legit.
Have none of you ever heard of reenactment?
They should publish the list of names 😐 If they won’t face criminal consequences, they should at least face social ones
