How are they not making money selling craft beer in Shoreditch and Camden?
Interesting that the three London closures are the three in prosperous inner suburbs, while Ealing, Upminster and Wandsworth survive. Wonder if the issue is actually competition from fancier places with less macro-ish beer offerings.
Surprised with Camden tbf, certainly enough tourists not familiar with the brand to pack the place out you’d have thought
Maybe your business wouldn’t be struggling, James, if you just worked a bit harder.
Perhaps overcharging for bang average beer, and perhaps having shit business practices, and perhaps relying on controversy for free publicity ain’t a good business model after all. Huh.
Good.
I was at the Shepherds Bush one after a gig at the Empire a few months ago. They were closing at 11pm so must have been already struggling.

Good. Awful pubs, owned by a prat.
Their wings have become awful. Last two times were so disappointing. Not going there anymore.
I’d be surprised if Brewdog is still around in three years.
Every time I go in the Tower Hill one all of the tables are reserved (but empty) and there’s no standing space so I usually leave and go to Feeneys instead
Good beer though
I remember going to Brewdog Camden in 2011 and it all being very exciting and the beer was great with loads of different flavours. To see that pub close really feels like an indicator it’s all gone very wrong with the brand.
Their beers have been bland for years now, and I came help but feel it all went downhill when they stopped producing 5am Saint, their most interesting beer.
Really bummed by this. When I moved to London 11 years ago, Shepherds bush bar was my favourite place to go out with friends or by myself.
Last few years things are really going downhill in London, glad I finally moved out.
Good, fuck Brewdog.
The one in Shoreditch has been shut(tered) for the last two months. Fairly solid rumour is because of rats, and they can’t fumigate because of the flats above the pub.
Shame the Charlotte St one isn’t returning to being independent.
Good riddance.
It has started to feel like it is cool to hate on Brewdog because their owner is a dick. The Tower Hill bar is decent, the one in Camden is good. They have a place and the beer isn’t that bad. Craft beer in general isn’t as popular as it was 5-10 years ago and the market is so over done now. Most people in London just want a decent pint of Guinness now.
Brewdog shareholders are now some of the most anti Brewdog people around. They have abandoned the company in droves after seeing their shares made worthless by the former owners appalling PE deal and Watt n Co turning them into a toxic brand. Doesn’t help that their bars generally serve their most average beers and rarely have anything decent…all that at eye popping prices. There’s going to be a TV series on this one day: We had it all and we fucked it all up.
Best craft beer in Scotland
That’s not very punk.
