ANRE, Romania’s national energy regulator, granted the permit for the establishment of the upstream transmission pipelines related to the natural gas production activity within the Neptun Deep project.

This decision concerns the critical infrastructure that connects the offshore exploitation area in the Black Sea to the shore terminal, in the area of Tuzla commune, Constanta County, and marks an essential stage in the development and exploitation project of the most important natural gas field discovered in Romania in recent decades.

“The granting of this establishment authorisation represents another important step in the direction of efficiently capitalising on Romania’s strategic resources in the Black Sea. Neptun Deep is not just an energy project, but a starting point for Romania’s ambitious plan to become an exporter of energy security in the region “, said George Niculescu, President of ANRE.

According to the documentation submitted by OMV Petrom and Romgaz Black Sea Limited, the total value of the related works is estimated at 3.77 billion lei (744 million euro).
