Among the crowds watching Eugenie and Jack leaving the
castle in their carriage was a group of friends who’d gathered especially for
the occasion.
Rachel Price-Greenow, from Hereford, admitting she had a
tear in her eye watching the couple go by.
“I got emotional,” she said. “I was quite teary. It’s
just lovely. I love all the pomp and sense of occasion.”
Her friend Helen Freeman, from Swansea, was wearing a
home-made fascinator with the couple’s initials embroidered on top.
“It’s a royal event – and you’ve got to wear a fascinator
to a wedding,” she said. “They just seem like a normal couple, which is great.”
Gemma Morgan, also from Hereford, said: “Someone in a
shop here was telling us this wedding feels more like a community event – it’s really relaxed and friendly.”
Alice Smart, from Manchester, said: “They seem really
sweet and humble. And it’s great to be here to celebrate this, as there’s so
much unhappiness in the world.”
