thoughts on this? Does anyone uses Karta GPS, Flitsmeister or Sway & already experienced the advantage?

Why the hell would you need an app for something like this? Data mining privacy nightmare.
Lights in NL seem to work just fine without another damn app…
Sway is the only one for bikes, app made by de Gov, you can’t even find it directly on the playstore or find anything about it online. Somewhere I found a link to the app on the playstore to be able to download it and it just shows the time of the red light. But there still is some delay, so not really useful.
Also first article is from 2023, so in two years they do not have anything useful to show for it it seems
My first thought is privacy hell

Yeah, let’s install a separate app from the government for 150 traffic lights…
And then people ask why there’s so many budget cuts.
You can’t explain this to anyone not living in Belgium.
Yeah I’ve read whole article and still don’t know what’s app name or even how to get it. I’ll probably still use Waze tho simply because it connects to Spotify
Het is niet zo intelligent om een systeem uit te rollen zonder dat de grote spelers aan boord zijn als je die ook effectief nodig gaat hebben. Hoeveel kost dat systeem en wiens idee was dat?
I would love to have a solution for cyclists and pedestrians for not having to press a button each time they want to cross.
Motion sensors are way more user-friendly
This is the stupidest idea ever, requiring phones and 3rd party apps. Who’s gonna always use some gps app when driving, walking or cycling? Its a privacy nightmare, an unnecessary drain on battery life and another way our society depends on smartphones (and their OSes are a duopoly of 2 US tech giants).
I’m all for smart traffic lights if they detect traffic with sensors at the light, which I believe is the way the Netherlands do it.
